We had to drive into the Palestinian West Bank to go to Sebaste in Samaria. We arrived at the mosque which is built over the tombs of Elisha and John the Baptist. This is a pretty tense area right now and there were signs warning us to not go in but we had to get the footage :-)

It was pretty hot today and we were sweating like crazy and drinking lots of water but we got everything on film that we needed and it’s pretty exciting stuff.

We even found a huge statue of the pagan god Baal which continued to seduce the Israelites. I stood on the steps  of King Ahab and Jezebel’s famous Ivory Palace where Elijah pointed his finger at King Ahab and Queen Jezebel and told them there would be no rain.

Post Production work has begun here in sunny Phoenix AZ.

The first is a picture above is our Old Testament timeline being prepared in the studio to set the stage for the prophets and their place in the salvation story.

The second is me recording the voiceovers for over 80 scenes. The third is my wife, Janet, checking the script and watching over the details.

Next we'll tackle artwork and music and filming the extra scenes that we need to add here in Phoenix.

One scene includes a bull, another eating grasshoppers, another was a with a raven, riding a Segway thru history and a bull’s-eye T-shirt.

Stay tuned… and please pray for us.

Busy day today in Jericho, the Jordan Valley and the birthplace of Elisha the prophet (Abel-Mahola). We were in a restricted military zone, with landmine signs and electric fences. Got all our filming just in time before the military pulled in and surrounded us with five vehicles and told us to leave with M-16s all in their hands.

Above is a picture of how we found a Bedouin flagging us down asking for water so we pulled over and gave him some cold water and he let us use his donkey for some important scenes. Then to the Spring of Elisha where I was up to my knees in the water – not bad since it was over 110 degrees down here!

You can also see me laying in layers of sheep dung as I portray Elijah despondent under a Broom Tree asking God to kill him. And yeah, that is me driving the tractor in the Jordan Valley but you will have to wait to see the movie to know why.

Miracles and answers to prayer are amazing when you step out in faith determined to obey God and tell the story. What an amazing adventure. Can’t wait to share Elijah & Elisha with the world. NOTHING like this has ever been done before.

Joe Reynolds, owner of Skyline Video and his crew are AMAZING! They are quick and professional and can adapt on the fly. There is no video crew better than these guys. And thanks to Mark Brumley and Tony Ryan of Ignatius Press who are are making all of this possible. And thanks to the incredible Amer Shehadeh of BesTours who is the most incredible agent, guide, driver and friend imaginable. None of this could be done without him and his genius.

Here's a picture of our crew in front of the Welcome to Egypt sign. At the point where you see the fortress in the water we could see for countries Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. You'll also see our crew with all of her camels laying on the ground resting just before we get to Sinai (ha ha).

We arrived at Saint Catherine's monastery and arrived at our hotel which is a one star hotel. There are only a few hotels way out here in the middle of nowhere and all of them are one star hotels. My wife sat on the toilet and mosquitoes flew out from underneath. She's a saint!

Tomorrow we leave at 4 AM on camels for the long trek to the top of Sinai. Camels take us 2/3 of the way and then we have to scramble up rocks the rest of the way. But we want to present the full and honest story of Elijah and Elisha. It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it

June 20, 2017 We finished up our filming in Jordan today. We finished our last six scenes at the Jordan River. I had to get in up to my thighs. It’s the muddiest river you ever saw :-)

Yesterday the sun was so hot and bright we had to discontinue at 2:00 PM because the cameras just could not function.  So we had to finish up at the Jordan River this morning before the sun got too high in the sky.

Tomorrow we drive north and cross from Jordan into Israel at the Sheikh Hussein Crossing. Will spend the night in Nazareth and begin our filming in the northern part of Israel on Thursday.
